Our sweet bug-a-boos is 5 years old today. Where has the time gone? She is a tough cookie on and off the soccer field, yet such a girlie girl. She enjoys painting her nails, playing dress up and taking care of her baby brother. She also loves to laugh and spend time with her big brother. (most of the time:)) She is so ready for Kindergarten and can't wait to be at Owen and mommy's school next year. Mommy is trying to enjoy this last year with her sweet girl still at home. Daddy is head over heels for his precious Elizabeth as well. Happy 5th Birthday Buggies. We love you and are so proud of you. May the Lord bless you and keep you always.

We celebrated Owen's 7th birthday at Disneyland this year. He is at such a great age for this park. He is able to go on everything and still enjoys the "magic" of it all.:) December 16th is his actual birthday and it was the last day of school before Christmas break. It was a fun day of celebrations at school as well. We finished the evening watching Cars 2 for family movie night. (Thank you Babica)

Adam's First Steps! Boy! It took a while, but the day finally came!

Honestly, we thought Adam would be our fastest walker just because of the fact of having older siblings to keep up with. This was not the case for our precious Adam. He became the world's fastest crawler and liked it that way until today!! Hooray! Here are a few snip its of his first steps. Our whole family was there when it happened. It was such a treat for all of us. Hang in there during the video clip. He takes more and more steps as the video goes on. The last part is the best! Poor Elizabeth gets denied by her baby brother.:) Adam will be 18 months on December 9th and finally walking! Praise the Lord!

Disneyland Thanksgiving 2011

This year we spent 3 fantastic days of our Thanksgiving break at Disneyland. Grammy and Papa took the whole family to the happiest place on earth, and then we headed down to our house for a tasty Thanksgiving dinner. Owen, Elizabeth and Adam had so much fun with their grandfolks, aunts, uncles and especially their cousins. It was so special to see them having so much fun together. With the help from our family, we also pulled off our first Thanksgiving at our house this year and then spent another day enjoying the beach! Here's an animoto video of some of our photos. It was so hard to pick out only 12 pics from so many wonderful memories. We hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving. We all have so much to be thankful for.

Happy Fall, Halloween and Birthday!

Happy Fall to everyone! We've had a lot of fall fun with friends this past month. We took a our annual trip to a local pumpkin patch and found some great pumpkins. At the beginning of the month we also had a great time with some of Jeremiah's Westmont buddies at our annual get-together. As the month went on, Elizabeth, Adam and mommy had another trip to a pumpkin patch with Elizabeth's preschool. Her whole class actually got lost in the corn maze. It took us a while to find our way out!!
Then all of sudden its the end of October and we are celebrating mommy's birthday as well as Halloween. Mommy was able to have a date night with Daddy(woo hoo! Thank you Dann and Wendy!),a dinner date with Westmont friends (such a treat to be with dear friends), breakfast with special church friends(so thankful for these amazing women who love the Lord!) and top it off with making cupcakes with Bugs and a happy birthday song from sweet loveletts! What a great 35th year celebration. The Lord has brought so many wonderful friendships into my(mommy) life. I am so thankful and feel blessed to have each of them to walk with in celebrations, sorrows and challenges that life brings. God is so good.

The Beach House!

Our family enjoyed our first week of fall break at Mr. Ray's beach house once again. Papa and Grammy were able to join us for some beach fun as well! We also had fun hanging out with our bible study group and the Thomas Family. This vacation spot is always such a wonderful and relaxing place for our little family. The sunsets are just amazing! Football and Soccer Time!

Our little family is in full swing with fall sports. Owen chose to try flag football this season and Elizabeth is playing soccer with Daddy as coach. Owen's transition into full day first grade as well football practice and games was tough for him at first, but he has adjusted to the commitment level and schedule. He is really enjoying it now. Elizabeth has been a fantastic athlete from the start. And it doesn't hurt that her Daddy is the head coach. She is loving that part very much. On the parent side of things, it is so fun to watch our precious kids working hard and having fun. We are so proud of them. Check out the video clips of each of them playing this past weekend.

Auntie Joanna and Uncle Nick's Wedding!

Owen and Elizabeth have been counting down the days to Ciocia Z.'s wedding and it finally arrived on September 3, 2011. The wedding and reception were held at the absolutely gorgeous location of The Bella Victorian Vineyard in Camarillo,Ca. Jeremiah and I did not get as many location photos as we would have liked so you really don't get a feel for the setting from the pictures below. (Plus we forgot to take a pic of mommy and daddy together! We did get some amazing dancing in while Adam slept in the bridal room though.:)) Once we get more from family we'll have to post them. We would highly recommend this place for any special event.
My step-sister, Joanna was the ultimate wedding planner. She had everything under control and truly did an amazing job making her and Nick's day so special. Owen and Elizabeth loved being a ring bearer and flower girl along with their cousins as well. Aloha to Joanna and Nick! Hope you're having a fun honeymoon on the Big Island and blessings to you both on your new life as husband and wife! We love you!

The Matsushita family became our across the street neighbors several years ago when they moved here from Japan. They were only schedule to live here for a little while due to a work contract. The time has come for them to go back to Japan and we are so sad to see them go. Thank you for being such great friends and neighbors Matsushita Family. We will miss you all. Elizabeth Lost Her First Tooth!

We noticed a week or two ago that one of Elizabeth's grown-up teeth was coming in behind her baby teeth. Yikes! After talking with a friend about it, we thought we would have to go to the dentist to get her teeth pulled. We decided to check to see if her teeth were loose at all before heading to the dentist. Thank the Lord, 2 of her bottom teeth were found to be loose. One of them came out today! A little hard to tell because her grown-up tooth is already coming in, but hooray for Elizabeth!

Last Minute Camping Trip

Our kids love to go camping in our little tent trailer. We decided to see if there were any camping spots available for a one night get-a-away. Our Saturdays will soon be filled with flag football games for Owen and soccer games for Elizabeth so we thought we'd take this opportunity to go away before our busy sports seasons begin. Camping is always a little more work for mommy and daddy but to see how much delight the kids have makes it all worth it, right? We really did have a wonderful time, going on a hike, riding bikes and just relaxing in the trailer. The Lord provided beautiful weather and precious memories once again. What a blessing.

14 Months Old and Elizabeth's First Soccer Practice

Adam is 14 months old today! You can see from the picture below how active he is. He was laughing hysterically trying to grab my camera as I was taking this picture of him. He is so fun, playful and exhausting all rolled into one. Oh, life with a one year old! We love it and are so thankful for our little man.
As for Elizabeth: She is old enough to be on an AYSO soccer team and daddy is her coach this year. She has been counting down the days until her first practice and it finally came today. Daddy said she was a superstar. It will be so fun to watch her this season. More highlights of her season will be coming this fall.

Summer Fun Continues Even Though School is in Session!

School started for both Owen and Elizabeth towards the end of July but we were still having visitors up until the night before school. Summer has continued as our family is returning back into our daily school routine. Some fun outings we have had with our friends are shown below: The Pelascini Family came down for a visit and our families went to the zoo, a Padre Game and just hung out at our place. We also had a fun trip to Sea World with the Taylor cousins. Even though school has already begun, we squeezed in a visit to Legoland and Legoland waterpark. Thank you Dziadek and Babcia! Also below is Owen's new first grade teacher, Elizabeth's 2nd and last year of preschool teachers and sweet Adam enjoying a beautiful day at the park on a swing. One of his favorite things to do right now.:) We are so thankful for such healthy and active kiddos. We are trying to take in every new moment because these years are already flying by.

We Love Forest Home!

On July 3rd the Heath and Thomas Family headed up to Forest Home for Family Camp 2011. We weren't sure what to expect because neither family had done a family camp like this before. I(Joanna) have a very special place in my heart for Forest Home. This is where I accepted the Lord in junior high as well as had the opportunity to get baptized there as an adult. This was our first opportunity to be at Forest Home as a family and now it holds very special memories for all of us. The kids had wonderful programs and the adults had an amazing speaker that week. Both kids and adults were presented the same bible teachings so we could talk about them with each other. The free time was also a highlight especially for the kids. The pics below show some of the activities we got to do: Fun lake activities (Elizabeth maneuvered a kayak on her own, we were impressed!), horseback riding, miniature golfing(Owen would have done this every second of the day if given that option). Its truly a challenge to illustrate this unique family experience in writing, but that said, we plan to save up and hope to do something like this again. Sharing this vacation with the Thomas Family made it even more fun and memorable. Thanks for sharing in such a fun vacation with us Thomas Family. You are precious friends to us.:)

13 Years and Still Counting!:)

My hard working, sweet, and handsome husband and I are celebrating our 13th anniversary today. Babcia and Dziadek came down for the weekend so the two of us could have a night away to celebrate. Over the past 13 years, 3 children later, we have realized how important time away with each other is. We were refreshed; and continue to take on life's joys and challenges together. Happy 1st Birthday Adam!

Our precious boy turned one today! We can't believe that a whole year has gone by since he joined our family. Our family would not complete without the little guy. Mommy and Daddy have been reminded how active a little one year old can be. How easily we have forgotten. Here are a few things he's doing this month:

Still crawling like crazy!
Let's us know in sign language when he's "all done" and if he wants "more" food.
Recognizes different animal sounds (especially doggies and cats).
Responds to daddy's nickname: "The Ultimately" for him.
Gives us the peace sign. Really he does. We've tried to catch it on camera but we never seem to have the right timing.

Happy First Birthday Adam! We love you so much! You are a perfect addition to our family. Your daddy and I pray for you daily. Owen and Elizabeth pray for you often as well. They are so thankful for their baby brother!

Camping Highlight for Elizabeth

Elizabeth taught herself how to ride her bike on two wheels!! This was a very different experience from when Owen first rode on two wheels. Miss Elizabeth would not let anyone help her. She did not want mommy or daddy to hold the bike while she started pedaling. This sweet, sassy girl started pushing the bike with one foot, then placed both feet on the pedals and was off! It was so fun to watch her persistence and determination. We'll try to post a video in the near future! Good work Elizabeth. We are so proud of you!

Camping at the Beach!

Our first day of summer vacation and we were off to a camping trip with the Polish side of the family. Babica and Dziadek packed up their motor home and met up with us at the end of Pacific Coast Highway near Point Mugu. O and E's cousins: Emily and Andrew with their mommy and daddy joined us as well. On Sunday, the entire family came down and celebrated Adam's 1st birthday as well as Uncle Mark's, because his is on the same day as Adam's. Even Cousin Julie came for a visit and met Adam for the first time! What a treat! The cousins had such a great time together and even mommy and daddy got to take a few snoozes in our tent trailer.

Family, Friends and a Fun New Playground!

This past week has been filled with family, friends and a fun new playground. First, we met Babcia,Dziadek and Owen and Elizabeth's step-cousins at Legoland. We had such a fun time together. Then, our generous neighbor gave us their old play structure because their daughter has out-grown it. O and E are playing on it everyday! What a wonderful gift. Thank you so much Hopkins family. Plus, Daddy has been away on his annual guys weekend so Mommy decided to load up the kids and visit her best friend, Jessica in Orange County. She just had her 3rd baby about 3 weeks ago so we got to meet Baby Rhett for the first time that day!Thank you Lord for wonderful family, such giving neighbors and precious friends.

11 Months

Adam is 11 months old today! This time last year the family couldn't wait for him to arrive but it wouldn't be for another whole month that he would join us. A few things he's been up to:
Eating food like crazy! He would love to have every item that his brother and sister are eating but he's not quite there yet.
Crawling like crazy! He's not into climbing stairs yet! Which is good.
Pulling up on his knees to reach things on tables/chairs, whatever he can reach. He is not quite sturdy on his feet but its coming!
Talking, screaming, chatting to himself. He seems to have a lot to say. He also likes to let all of us know that he's around, but really chill at the same time.

Happy 10 months sweet little lovelett! Adam is on the move! He loves being where the action is and that's usually with his big brother and sister.
We also had lots of family visitors this past week. First, grammy and papa came down to see us, followed by a Sea World stop with Auntie Jenny, Uncle Steveo and the Taylor cousins, and then came a super visit with Babica and Dziadek. Our little Adam is going to be a toddler soon, and I think our family didn't want to miss his last few months of babyhood.:) We had a wonderful time with everyone and deeply treasure our time together.

Adam is 9 months old today! He is at the beginning of his crawling stage. He is sooo there! Rocking back and forth on all fours, scooting himself just a tad to grab a toy that he wants. Any day now he will be jammin' around the house. Safety gates here we come! Owen and Elizabeth are just taking in every moment with him. Owen told me the other day that he doesn't want Adam to get any bigger. He is too cute the way he is. I told him that's what we used to say about him! But we are enjoying our kidlets in every stage that is coming along. Happy 9 months sweet blue eyed boy!

Adam turned 8 months old today! Our little sweetness has 2 bottom teeth that are completely in and his 2 front top teeth poking through. He really does smile most of the day unless he's tired or hungry. He is in the process of learning to crawl, getting on all fours everyday and rocking ready to move. Mommy is still trying to enjoy his immobility but that will be ending soon.:)
All 4 of us are madly in love with this little guy. We can't get enough of him. Happy 8th Month Little Man! Here are a few pics of him in the last week. We had to include a picture of Elizabeth our baker since we didn't capture any of her and baby brother.

Adam's Special Dedication

This past weekend both sets of grandparents came down plus one auntie (Uncle Robert's sweet wife Iwona), to Adam's baby dedication at our church. It was such a special morning for us. Jeremiah's dad had a role along side one of our pastors, Gary Bowman, to dedicate Adam to the Lord. We also had the wonderful opportunity to hear Papa preach at our church that morning. What a gift! We feel so blessed to have grandparents who are: a quote from papa: "Nuts about our kids!" God is so good to our family. We also feel blessed to have a church family that will also be there to pray, encourage and teach our children to grow with Jesus. Thank you Babcia, Dziadek, Ciocia Iwona, Papa and Grammy for coming down to celebrate with us. Thank you Paseo Del Rey Church fro being an amazing church family!

Our crazy month of December would not be complete without the celebration of little buggies' birthday!We have done a couple birthday celebrations this month along side her big brother's,but this morning Elizabeth asked, "Do I get to blow out my OWN candles?" Our little lovelett is 6 months old today! It feels like we just brought him home.

Little milestones:
2 bottom teeth are sprouting up!
He rolls around the floor like crazy.
His brother and sister know how to make him giggle.
He is sitting up with help and reaching and grabbing for anything he can find.

A Tank Engine, A Princess and a Little Monkey

There is obviously no family theme to our costumes this year but all 3 kiddos were still pretty cute.:) We hope everyone had a fun and safe Halloween! The older our kids get the more exciting holidays become, especially ones that have anything to do with candy! To The Beach...

During Owen's 2 week Fall break, the Heath's family friend, Mr. Ray gave us the opportunity to enjoy his beach house on the boardwalk at Mission Beach! What an amazing gift. Here are just a few highlights of our refreshing break from routine:
1. Family Game Nights
2. Major highlight for Jeremiah: Four San Diego Padre pitchers and one outfielder staying at the house next door. Ray and his neighbor share a beachfront patio, which meant Jeremiah could chat with the Padres whenever we were all relaxing on the patio. (In the picture below are the four Padre Pitchers - left to right - Luke Gregerson, Joe Thatcher, Adam Leftwich and Brian Webb - Chris Denorfia was the outfielder and is not pictured). All five guys were very nice to our whole family.
3. Beautiful views and sunsets EVERYDAY! Mommy and Daddy felt like they were having a date night every night of the week just listening to the ocean.
4. Free Shells: Collected and given away by Owen and Elizabeth on our patio.
5. Fun times on the beach!
6. Dear friends stopping by for an overnight visit. Good times had by all.
Thank you Mr. Ray for opening your place to our family! It will always be a very memorable vacation!:)

Elizabeth's Injury

Elizabeth had her first visit to the urgent care on Saturday. No broken bones, Praise the Lord. Elizabeth, Daddy, and Owen were playing around on the living floor and both kiddos were on Daddy's back. They fell on top of each other and Bug's arm was hurt from the event. Poor girl! Daddy, Dave and Parker Kitzman took her to the doctor for an X-Ray. We found out it was just a sprain, so she was required to wear a splint for a couple days. As you can see from the picture, she is recovering quickly!

Our Labor Day weekend was very fun and relaxing. We spent time with friends as well as chilled as a family. Friday night we went to the zoo to hang out with church friends and to get to know a missionary family that our church family supports. Saturday we had the opportunity to spend time with old friends. Welcome Back to CA Fransz Family! Monday, we spent the whole day relaxing as a family. We hope everyone had a super 3-day weekend. Elizabeth Starts Preschool!

Our little Bugs started her first day of preschool. Mommy and Adam took her to school right after we dropped off Owen at his bus stop. Wow! It was really strange to drop of TWO kids at school today. Adam and Mommy had a great time together after mommy got over the fact that her kidlets are growing up way too fast! Here is a pic of Elizabeth with one of her new teachers. She had an amazing first day and is so excited to go back next week!

Enjoying the Last August Weekend!

Some unexpected fun times came up last weekend. Babcia and Dzidek called us up and wanted to come down for a visit, so we were more than happy to welcome them down. They are going on a 3 week trip to Poland and wanted to see us before they left. We also spent an afternoon at the bay on Coronado Island with some precious church friends. We've had a couple fun visits this month including a trip to Valencia so that Adam could meet his aunties and cousins for the first time, as well as meeting Jeremiah's best buddy: Mr. Burbz. Another year has flown by in our little family! This month Adam joined us and so our anniversary celebration was very mellow. Babcia and Dziedek took Owen and Elizabeth for a whole week so we could do some resting and bonding with Adam. While they were gone (we missed them terribly, but did enjoy a newborn quiet house:)), we went on a couple dates (with Adam) and celebrated our anniversary. When the kiddos came home, my parents gave us a gift card to Macaroni Grill and we all went and celebrated together. 12 years and counting! Every year that we celebrate, we reminisce how we've celebrated anniversaries in year's past. Its kind of fun game and tradition that we do. Thank you for being an all-star husband, Jeremiah! Working through life with you is really a gift with such a great partner and friend.

Baby Heath's due date has come and gone so we are just hanging out waiting for his arrival. An induction is scheduled for Tuesday, the 8th if he doesn't come sooner. Jeremiah stayed home (for the first time ever!) from his annual Fellas weekend just in case baby arrived. The weekend came and went and we are still waiting. Baby Heath's due date is actually tomorrow June 2nd and mommy and daddy are definitely getting tired but excited about his arrival. O and E are also very ready to meet their new baby brother as well. Owen and Elizabeth's cousins were in town so we went to beach and also spent a nice afternoon with them for lunch. Our dear friends, Matt and Marrilee Boldt with their kiddos also met up with us one night for a round of bowling. Of course, mommy just watched but it was fun to enjoy the scene with great friends.

Happy Mom's Day to all the hard working and very patient moms out there. My little family took me out the night before so we wouldn't have to think about the crowds on the actual day. We had a fun time at the Corvette Diner. Its a 50's restaurant in SD that was a blast for all of us. It may have been a bit loud for mommy and daddy (are we getting old or what?) but it was a great place to take the kiddos and enjoy each other. Elizabeth and mommy even got up-do's by our waitress using red straws! We both loved that! We hope all the moms out there had a chance to relax and be appreciated today!

While Daddy took a fun trip to visit his best bud Peter (aka Burbz), Babcia came down to hang out with Mommy, Owen and Elizabeth. She helped mommy tremendously by washing clothes and bedding for baby brother! Thank you so much Babica. She also got to watch one of Owen's T-ball games and work the snack bar! So we packed our car a couple times these last few weeks to squeeze in some family time before our new little addition arrives. Boy, Mama didn't realize how challenging it would be to go camping and walk D-land this far along in pregnancy. But we did it and a fun time was had by all. Family times we will always remember. And really, our passes for D-land expired this past weekend so we are taking a break from D-land for now.:) We will keep everyone posted on Baby Heath's arrival. I (Joanna) am 35 weeks as I am writing this so our little guy could be ready to arrive anytime.

Jeremiah's Aunt makes an annual visit with her friends, Bob and Terri Harper to Mission Beach to spend time with another dear friend named Ray. Ray owns this fun home right on Mission Beach where they get to relax all week long. We always try to make a few visits with them while they down here during the week. Owen's First T-Ball Game

Baseball season is here and our daddy is a sucker when it comes to coaching a team when Owen is involved. He is coaching 9 other little guys, all mostly in their first year of playing ball. Their team is called the Greensboro Grasshoppers. It was so fun and hilarious to watch their first game last weekend. They all love to run after the ball to see who can grab it first to throw it to one of the basemen. Owen just loved hanging out in the outfield kicking the dirt a bit. His favorite position that day was being the catcher. The gear really made him feel important even though he wasn't always sure when to look out for the ball coming his way. I think he just enjoyed spending time with Coach Daddy and having his mama and sissy watch. Way to go Owen! More great games to come this season!

Annual Girls' Weekend Rocks Once Again!

Another fun and relaxing girls weekend has passed again. This year we met up in Newport Beach at the Townsend's residence (Ali's parents. Alison is one of the sweet friends that is always willing to host us) . Unfortunately I'm not the greatest picture taker during these weekends. We didn't get a chance to get a group photo(all 10 of us were there this year!), and I only took a few shots that were on the last day of our time together.
We just relaxed, played a few games, watched a movie and just caught up on everyone's parenthood life. Yes, we are all moms now! Crazy. It is always so refreshing to to meet with these women and see how the Lord is molding us. Thanks for such a great weekend gals. Love you all!

Fun Times Spent with Papa and Grammy

Papa and Grammy met up with us for 3 days at Disneyland last week. We shared a hotel room that had an upstairs loft and kitchen so everyone had plenty of room and rest. Mommy and Daddy actually got a brief date night out in Anaheim as well. We were a bit tired from a busy day at D-land that night, but went out for a date anyway because we had the chance. We really were exhausted at the end of everyday but still enjoyed our time together. It was such a treat to be with Grammy and Papa. Thanks for coming down and spending time with us! We love you! We headed up to Running Springs to visit the Kitzman Family. The Kitzmans are dear friends who lived in Chula Vista for a while and felt called to be missionaries in Peru. They are back in the states for now and will be heading back to Peru in the fall. We drove up with Dann and Wendy Sherman who are another set of precious friends that still live in the neighborhood. Can't Get Enough of Disney

Our dear Babcia bought us tickets to see Disney on Ice this morning! We have ventured to Disneyland this past year quite a bit due to our passes, but our kids just can't get enough of Disney. The show did have our kids' fav characters from Cars and Little Mermaid so my mom could not resist. Disney just puts on such fun and magical performances every time. I enjoyed the performance myself. Its kind of hard to read the little sign O and E are holding up, but it does say: Its a boy! We are adding another little boy to our family and we are so excited to welcome him in! When Jeremiah and I walked in the door and shared the news with the kiddos, Owen was sooo excited that he was going to have a brother. Sweet Elizabeth asked: "But where's the girl?" I knew one of them would be a little disappointed because each wanted their own gender, but as we talked about our little brother more, Elizabeth had a change of heart.:)The little guy is doing great in mama's belly and continues to grow. We are half way to his arrival which is around June 2nd!

Grandma Heath

On January 2nd, we received a phone call from Jeremiah's dad that Grandma Heath had died(Jeremiah's Dad's mother). We found out that week that hospice had been called in so we knew this day was coming. We packed up the kiddos the next morning and headed up to the bay area to be with the Heath family all week. We were so thankful that Jeremiah could take bereavement leave and that I had not started back up at school; it allowed us to be with family all week. What I remember most about Grandma, was that she was a prayer warrior. Whenever we visited with her, she would tell me that she was praying for me. As we went through pictures and some of her things, she had stacks of filled prayer journals that reminded me that I was always being prayed for. She will be greatly missed! The family picture below was taken when Elizabeth was being dedicated at 6 months old with Grandma right in the middle.:)

Grandma's son(Owen and Elizabeth's Papa) spoke at the service and shared how much Grandma Heath showed Jesus' love through loving people no matter how hard it could be at times. Her heart and home were open to everyone.

Occidental Community Church has a tradition to ring their church bell the same number of years the person who was honored at the memorial service had lived. All the great-grand kids got to help ring the bell 90 times for Great-Grandma Heath. Wow! Grandma Heath had a fruitful 90 years of life. Amazing!

Christmas 2009 and New Year 2010

Joyous times were shared this holiday season. We headed up to our Polish Christmas in Thousand Oaks this year and spent some great times eating and having conversation with everyone. Owen and Elizabeth just love spending time with their cousins. We were home to ring in the New Year with our dear friends, the Kitzmans, and the Shermans joined us for a New Year's breakfast. Sharing this special season with family and friends is always such a blessing! Here are some pictures that highlight our time together.

The littlest one pictured below flew from Poland this year with her mom and dad to celebrate with us!

Elizabeth got her very first bicycle. A princess one of course! She did a great job riding it around the park.

Tree Cutting Trip

We packed up our little family and headed up to the Bay Area to enjoy Thanksgiving with the Heath Family. It was such a blessing to have all of O and E's cousins together this year. We even took time to celebrate an early Christmas together. Much to be thankful for. Here are a few highlights.

O and E's great-grandma turns 90 this December so we had an early birthday party for her.
After our visit with great-grandma we headed over to Aunt's house and spent some time with her.

The kids drew each other's names this year and bought Christmas gifts for each other. It was so fun watching them give each other gifts.
Spending time with papa was another treat.
Spending time with cousins and uncles: another great gift

Taking the ferry to Pier 39, walking to Ghirardelli Square for some ice cream sundaes, and taking a cable through the heart of San Francisco(with the whole family!): What a treat.
We are so thankful to have had the whole Heath Family together for this special time of year.

Grammy visits and a spectacular U2 concert

Our long-time friends, Chris and Rebecca Chapman asked us to join them for the U2 concert and we could not pass it up. We called up Grammy to see if she could come down for a visit and hang out with O and E while we ventured to the Rose Bowl for the concert. It was a great date day/night. We did not get home until 4am. We could not remember the last time we stayed out that late. (college?) The concert was so memorable. Really, the best concert we've ever seen. Thanks Chapmans for a super fun time and thank you Grammy for hanging out with Owen and Elizabeth.

A Memorable Family Vacation

We created a brief video of some of our pics from our trip to Maui last week. We were able to get 4 tickets using our miles and decided to pack up the kids and head there for a family adventure. Owen and Elizabeth loved the soft sand and warm ocean water. They also enjoyed the convertible we rented to take a couple of road trips on the island. Mom and Dad found a babysitter on the island and got a little sunset date night of our own. None of us wanted to come home. It was such a precious and relaxing time for our little family. Oh the memories! It might be quite a while before we head there again, but we will always remember this special trip together. Aloha and enjoy the pics.

Fun Firsts for Elizabeth and Owen

Fun firsts for the kiddos this week: Elizabeth had her first ballet/tap class and totally loved it. She was able to enjoy it with her friend Abby and they both did such a wonderful job together. Owen had his first official soccer game and scored one of the goals! You should have seen the proud look on his sweet little face. I was a total bad picture taker that day because I was way too into the game. One of the other moms actually captured his reaction after his first goal and snapped a shot. She is going to send it to me so I can share it with you later. Jeremiah is also the coach of O's team and its so fun to watch them out there together. Go Speed Racers!

Labor Day Weekend Fun

Fun times during Labor Day weekend: Spending time at the beach on a hot San Diego day and going to Disneyland on Monday because Daddy had the day off! Trying to take in every moment while our kiddos are little.Buggies was finally not afraid of any of the characters. She embraced each one with a hug and a kiss when she met them. This really was a first for her!

Free Museum Day

Every first Tuesday of the month, Balboa Park opens up several of there museums to SD residents for free. We decided to venture out that day and explored the Reuben H. Fleet Science Museum and O and E's fav of the day: The Model Train Museum. (Actually, I think it really was Owen's favorite, but at this point Elizabeth LOVES everything her big brother is into so she hung in there quite well.:)) Owen did not want to leave the place and he continues to tell us how much he wants to go back. So I guess we'll be heading to Free Museum Day for a while. Its hard to tell in the pics, but we really were looking at lots of trains. It was pretty cool. But I think Elizabeth and I had seen plenty of trains after an hour . Owen could have been there all day.

Right now Owen is into being Elliot the Pirate from the Veggies Tales: "The Pirates Who Don't Do Anything." In the movie, Elliot wears his eye patch above his eye, hence, Owen's patch above his eye. (in case you were wondering) He either wears the eye patch or his special Larry Boy(another Veggie Tale character) Hat everywhere we go.

Life-Long Friends

My sweet husband had the kiddos all to himself this morning while I took a drive up to Oceanside to meet up with a few dear friends from Westmont. We have a girls' weekend every February and there, we meet up with a total of 11 women (when we all can be there, its amazing!) to relax and catch up with one another. The gals who live in San Diego and Orange County will occasionally meet up in between our annual weekend retreats for a quick breakfast and catch up time as well. Both of these "just girls" times are always so refreshing for me. We have known each other since college, and its been such an honor and privilege to continue these friendships throughout our busy lives as growing women in Christ. Whenever we get together its like we've never left each other. I just love that.

A Weekend of Celebrations

We headed up to Thousand Oaks this past weekend for a couple exciting celebrations. Our good friend, Chris Cooke (a Westmonter) had a CA wedding reception with his new wife, Kelly. Cookies totally scored a great gal! It was also so fun to catch up with the other Fellas and their growing families. Congratulations Mr. and Mrs. Cookies! We also had a surprise birthday and retirement party for my mom on Saturday night. My brother and his wife, Ewona were the master planners of the festivities and they did an amazing job. My mom was so surprised and was so thankful to celebrate with close friends and family. We love you mom and we are so excited for this next phase in your life. Summer Camping Trips

We've enjoyed a couple camping trips this summer. The first one was over the fourth of July with our friends Colleen, Micah, Mary Jo and Lawrence. Colleen watches Owen and Elizabeth one day a week for us while I (Joanna) go into work. She has been such a treasure from the Lord and loves our kiddos very much! It was fun to spend sometime with everyone on our trip. Our campsite was right next to a small river so the kids and grown ups could play in it! So fun! Our second trip was the weekend after with the Thomas family. They have 3 girls of their own and Owen and Elizabeth always have such a blast with them. Yesterday, Owen ventured out on his bike without training wheels! He did such a great job. It was so cute to see the happiness and accomplishment on his face as he rode around the park. Here's a video clip of the event and a couple pics above.

Family, Friends, Fun, and Food!

This past week we headed on board a Royal Caribbean cruise ship to celebrate Jeremiah's aunt's birthday. It was our first time on a cruise ship and what an adventure it was! We had a wonderful chance to catch up with family and just be together on this magnificent boat. Some of Aunt's friends came along to celebrate as well, so it was also fun to catch up with them. Owen and Elizabeth enjoyed many rounds of mini golf at the top of the ship, as well as a couple ice skating shows on an ice rink right on the ship. I would say their highlights were hanging out with their cousins and sleeping on bunk beds for 7 nights. Owen told us he would not be sleeping any more unless he was back on the ship in his bunk bed. Jeremiah and I actually had an evening out to celebrate our 11th anniversary! Thanks family for watching our kiddos that night. What a treat! Thank you Papa and Grammy for making this trip possible for us and Aunt for getting all of us on board for the cruise! We love you all very much!The Heath Clan

Owen and Elizabeth's cousins were down for a visit in Oceanside this week to visit their other grandma and grandpa so we got a chance to have a quick visit with them as well.:) While they were here, the twins (Josh and Sarah) celebrated their 3rd birthdays! Jessica and Baby Ella came for a visit over memorial weekend. Jeremiah has his annual guys weekend and Jess and I try to make an effort to see each other. Well, my dear, sweet friend is moving away with her family to Georgia! I will miss her dearly and we know its not a forever good-bye. We've never lived in the same town except in college so hopefully it won't be too different for us in different states. We love you Fransz Family and we will be praying for a good transition for you all. Here's pics from our last visits together.

A Visit from Grammy

One of our sitters went out of town this week so we called up Grammy to see if she was available to hang out with kiddos while mom and dad went to work. She was! O and E were able to relax and spend time with Grammy. We were also able to squeeze in a SD trolley ride to Petco Park to watch the Padres play last Friday night! Thank you Grammy for coming down and spending time with us. We love you!Owen in the stands calling Papa to tell him we were at the game!

We feel so blessed because we got to visit with Babcia, Jaja and some of our Polish cousins twice in April! This time we met everyone at the happiest place on earth. And we thought our last visit was in February! Jaja had discount tickets through his work and took all of us there that day. Of course mommy and daddy decided to use those tickets towards season passes again! (what can we say, we are suckers for Disneyland) O and E get to enjoy another fun season at this special place. The kids and I took a trip to Sea World (Thank you Babcia!) last week on one of those really hot days. We found ourselves investigating starfish for a quite a while. Owen and Elizabeth asked to have a picture taken every time they picked up a new starfish. I had a lot of deleting to do on my camera when we got home.:) Here are just a couple pics from our fun adventure.

Our little Buggies moved into a big girl bed this week and the transition is going great so far! Hooray for Elizabeth. These sweet little years are flying by so fast. She does look tiny in a twin bed but she seems to be enjoying the change.

The Chapman family invited us to their family's lakehouse in Lake Arrowhead this weekend. Chris and Rebecca are old friends from our college days and we always enjoy spending time with them. We had the chance to get to know their little ones Nicholas(almost 3) and Samantha (almost 1) as well. They are fun and easy friends to hang out with.
